Kaytee Elliott is a writer/director/producer in Sydney, known for her left-field ideas and dark comedy projects. Having studied writing at UTS, she had high hopes of becoming a journalist, but the crumbling state of print media drove her to dance with a different devil - law. After studying law and working as a criminal defence lawyer (yes, it was crazy and yes, Harley-Davidsons are accepted as payment instead of cash on occasion), she discovered that the pull of creative writing was too strong and started making her own projects for fun. Eventually she left law and ended up in advertising, where she now produces commercial content for clients.

Creatively, she’s made many short projects which have screened at various festivals, been in BBC writers’ rooms, and has written a novel which won best unpublished manuscript in Australia in 2023 at the QWC writing competition. Recently, she’s been producing vertical dramas for overseas platforms like Vigloo, ShortMax and Reelshort, and plans to develop a slate for 2026.
