Biography
Bethany is an independent producer and co-founder of production company Staple Fiction. She is currently in production on Kate Blackmore’s feature documentary debut, MAKE IT LOOK REAL (2023), supported in development by Screen Australia, Screen NSW, and the SAFC. Autlook Filmsales represents the film (Oscar-nominated For Sama).

Short documentaries she has developed and produced include THE GLASS BEDROOM (2016), VIDEO BECOMES US (2018) and half-hour broadcast commission THE ART OF COLLECTING (2021) with director Kate Blackmore for the Australian Broadcasting Corporation. Short drama credits as producer include THE BUTTER SCENE (Sydney Film Festival, 2021) the Lexus Fellowship BROKEN LINE NORTH (Sydney Film Festival, 2019) and AACTA Social Shorts nominated WOLF (2016), which was financed via the Screen NSW Emerging Filmmakers Fund. She was also executive producer on the TIFF short film selection BIRDIE (2018).

Bethany was mentored by acclaimed producers Bridget Ikin and John Maynard at Felix Media from 2014 to 2016 as part of a Screen Australia Enterprise People grant. During that time, she worked in production on the BAFTA-nominated SHERPA (SFF, TIFF, Telluride) and THE REHEARSAL (TIFF, NYFF). Other feature credits include as co-producer of Selina Miles’s documentary MARTHA: A PICTURE STORY (Tribeca Film Festival).

Bethany is developing a feature drama, A CUP OF TEA, with writer/director Dee Dogan (Here Out West) and producer Bridget Ikin (Felix Media). The project recently won the development prize for the 2022 Attagirl international film lab. Bethany holds First Class Honours in Media Arts and Production from the University of Technology, Sydney.
