Biography
Amanda Spagnolo is an experienced writer and producer who has worked across various roles in live action and animation. In 2017, Amanda was nominated for a Creative Emmy for Outstanding Writing in a Children’s Program for Annedroids, an Amazon Prime series focusing on STEM for young girls. Amanda also associate-produced Annedroids and many other shows for the Toronto-based production company Sinking Ship Entertainment and went on to write for shows for Family Jr (Playdate, Dino Dana), Nickelodeon (Mysticons) and Corus Entertainment in the development phase. Upon moving to Melbourne in late 2017, Amanda began line producing the Disney XD show Space Chickens in Space wherein she led the creative for the Australian version of the 52 x 11 episodes. Following Space Chickens, Amanda worked on Monster Beach (CN) as a line producer and helped inform the creative on both the ACMA practices and what needed to be implemented in scripts in order to broadcast on Stan and was the point of contact in how to develop creative that would be appealing to Australian children.
Following that, she worked on the Logie-nominated preschool 3D series Ginger and the Vegesaurs with Cheeky Little as line producer. She then went on to be promoted and worked to develop and finance seasons 2-4 for the ABC as Producer. On each series, she worked on the concepts in the writer’s room as well as being across each episode from springboard to delivery to the various distribution companies and broadcasters. She was also across all of the financing with the executive producers and was the contact with regards to the budget and day to day with the finance manager at Cheeky.
Amanda is currently writing on her own personal projects and assists in producing Cheeky Little's development and service work slate. This year, Amanda has been selected to participate as one of SPA's Ones To Watch producers.
