Biography
Navid Bahadori is an award-winning executive producer, producer & director who works across all Broken Yellow productions.
Navid’s credits include feature documentaries, The Big Break (Nine & 9Now) and The Watch or the Time feature documentary; the scripted feature film Life After Fighting (Roadshow & Vertical Entertainment); the internationally acclaimed and awarded The Twist – Australian True Crime Stories true crime animated series which has won the Best Animation Program at the 2019 Rockie Awards as part of the World Media Festival, Best Animation for Screen at the 2019 Australia Production Design Guild Awards, Best Animation at 2019 Melbourne WebFest and Grand Jury Prize at the Web Series Festival Global 2019.
Navid is series producer and executive producer on the Screen Tasmania / Screen Australia supported series A Girl’s Guide to Hunting, Fishing and Wild Cooking (SBS).
Navid is also series producer and executive producer on the second series of The Twist - International True Crimes which is the first co-production between any Australian production company and bili bili, a streaming platform with 150+million active users, delivering content to the greater-China region.
Navid’s other credits include 13 x 15min #shelfie with Dan Hong (iview / Essential Media), delivery of over 300 pieces of video content for the Australian of the Year Awards (ABC + iview 2012 – 2021), Made for the Wild, a 5 x 13min series for NBCUniversal and numerous short form series in partnership with Yahoo!/Verizon Media (Mind Games, Conspiracies Unpacked, Cults Unpacked).
For over 10 years, Navid has been the Managing Director and producer for various commercial clients, having produced a wealth of online videos for a range of collaborators including Australian Broadcasting Corporation, SBS, Nine & 9Now, NBC Universal, Essential Media and Entertainment, Yahoo!, Verizon Media, The Guardian, ITV, X formerly Twitter Australia & Twitter Inc., Realestate.com.au, Domain, Woolworths, icare and National Australia Day Council.
Navid spends considerable time identifying potential documentary stories and serialised concepts and formulating teams to optimise the development of these concepts. Navid’s ability to engage with talent in a meaningful way and bring together people to realise a concept lies core to his skill set.
