Biography
Peter Herbert is the Program Convenor and Head of and Screen Business at the Australian Film Television and Radio School. Peter has been a writer, producer, and executive producer for many national and international companies, among them Crawford Productions, PBL Productions, Beyond International, Taffner Ramsay in New York, and Granada (ITV) in the UK.
Peter has numerous credits in comedy and drama, including original concepts and foundational events. For BBC2 he co-created comedy series Dossa and Joe. Other credits include The Flying Doctors, The Comedy Company, Acropolis Now, and script consulting on Lindy Chamberlain mini-series Through My Eyes, and the feature Perfect Victim. Peter has strong domestic and international experience working in senior executive, management, and creative positions for major media companies - the Seven Network, ABC, SBS Nine Network, Network Ten, Comedy Central in the US, Paramount Comedy Channel, the BBC, Channel 5 and Sky in the UK.
He has created and/or co-created highly successful and internationally prestigious annual events on the comedy calendar - The inaugural broadcast of the Melbourne International Comedy Festival Charity Gala, now in its 32nd year.
Peter has led Screen Business Leadership and Producing programs in Singapore, Bangkok, Vietnam, New Zealand and Korea.
