Sophie is an established producer and manager with a specialization in visual effects and animation. With over 20 years’ experience in Film & Television, both here in Australia, and in her home country, the UK. Sophie started her career as a live-action production manager and then producer for companies such as RSA and Partizan in London. She then moved into post production starting with editorial before settling into VFX and CG roles.
Since living in Australia, Sophie has been a TVC Producer for both agencies and Production companies, as well as a VFX Producer for some of the largest Australian VFX houses - Rising Sun Pictures and Method Studios. She has worked on numerous big budget international feature films and TV series including X-Men Dark Phoenix, Peter Rabbit, The Witcher and La Brea.
Sophie’s professional experience has been a combination of production with operations and management - building teams, mentoring and managing artists and crew, and she is cognizant of the infrastructure required to meet the essential technical requirements, while preserving creativity.
Sophie has a working knowledge of the entire production process from script to finishing, and understands multiple CGI, animation and VFX workflows and pipelines, including motion capture, real-time rendering and virtual production technologies. Her experience running multidisciplinary teams of crew, artists and developers has led her current role at NantStudios Melbourne as the Virtual Production Technical Producer.
